It’s been nearly a decade since Matthew Lobster, who starred in the hit NBC sitcom Matt & Kim, made his debut in a movie starring Mark Wahlberg.
Lobster then went on to star in The Social Network and hit theaters in 2012.
Since then, he’s been busy promoting his upcoming movie, The Man From Nowhere, with an appearance on Jimmy Kimmel Live!
and appearances on The View.
And now, according to Variety, Lobster is ready to be reunited with his old friend, Eddie Murphy, for an all-new movie.
The new movie will be directed by James Vanderbilt, a producer and director of The Man from Nowhere.
According to Variety’s report, it will be about a group of brothers, who go on a quest for a missing son named Matthew, who they believe is on the run.
That quest will eventually take them to New York City, where they will meet with the mayor, a man named Jack (Dylan Minnette), and finally Matt (Murphy).
“We’re thrilled to bring Matthew back for another chapter in the Matt & Kelly family saga,” Murphy said in a statement.
“He’s a great actor and we’re thrilled he’ll be returning for another great movie.
We are super excited to share the exciting news with fans and look forward to a new chapter of Matt & Kemp.”
Matt & Kim premiered on NBC in 1996 and later starred Alec Baldwin and John Goodman, before being picked up by Warner Bros. in 2000.
Matt & Keith was the only sitcom to ever win the Emmys, as well as being nominated for an Academy Award and winning a Golden Globe Award.
Murphy and Lobster had a number of other movie roles, including in the 2003 movie The Last Tycoon, starring Michael Keaton and John Leguizamo, and the 2008 comedy Get On Up.
